Public History

Creator: Sears' Studios, photographer.

The term ‘public history’ refers to histories that are written for a public audience and with a public purpose. Public histories may take many forms, such as social and community histories, organisational histories, oral histories and life/biographical histories. At Well Chosen Words we develop public histories of all these kinds. Our histories can capture the unique story of a social or community movement or group, the development and achievements of an organisation or business and the personal journey of an individual. Our accredited Professional Historian will bring experience and empathy to the task of working with you to develop a history in a format that will meet your needs – be that a book, digital history, oral history documentary, or simple booklet.
